Artist Residencies

The MAKORO CENTER artist-in-residence program provides living and studio space for emerging artists from Mali and around the world. Residents receive mentoring from established artists, opportunities to create and exhibit work, and a platform to build connections and launch their career.

Residency sessions last 3 to 6 months. Artists ages 18 to 30 are selected based on their experience, ambition, and commitment to community engagement. A jury reviews applications and awards 2 to 3 fully-funded residencies per session.
