<h3>About us</h3>
<p>The CENTRE MAKÔRÔ was founded in 2020 by renowned Malian painter Amadou Sanogo. We build on Sanogo's legacy of mentoring young artists through Atelier Badialan, which has launched the careers of dozens of emerging artists in Mali.</p>
<p>Located in Bamako's Sokonafing district, our two-story facility includes artists’ studios and living quarters, gallery space, classrooms and an event venue. Construction of the 590 sq meter center is over 75% complete, but the center already started operations since 2023.</p>
<p>The MAKORO CENTER delivers artist residencies, exhibitions and visual arts education programs designed by Sanogo in partnership with leading artists and arts professionals from Mali and abroad. Our goal is to cultivate creativity, empower youth, and promote social change through contemporary art.</p>
